East Meets West Weight Loss Ebook - East Meets West Weight Loss

About two years ago I read a startling CNN report stating that the United States was ranked #4 among all of the countries in the world for obesity.

Clearly, something is not working. CNN's report on the obesity epidemic has led me to believe that we need to look at things in a different way. It will take a fresh vantage point to truly conquer the weight loss battle, while at the same time promoting optimal health.

In a quest for answers I began digging deeper into traditional Chinese medicine, which has been practiced for thousands of years. In ancient China food was thought to be both a cause and a treatment for disease. When an individual was sick, practitioners would first change the patient's diet to improve their health.

There is a marked divergence in the philosophies of Chinese and western nutrition. While neither is right or wrong, the approaches are very different.

Western nutrition relies on terms such as carbohydrates, fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, and calories. In contrast, Chinese nutrition employs terms like yin, yang, Qi, blood, phlegm, and dampness. My goal is to combine the best of traditional Chinese dietary therapy with modern Western nutrition to illustrate the importance of total body health and wellbeing. Using this tactic I have created a resource of information and weight loss recipes to help you reach your weight loss goals and attain optimal health.

Chinese medicine is extremely effective at treating excess weight and obesity, while also promoting health. The Chinese have written literature on their medical system that dates back almost 2,500 years. There are currently over 40,000 books on Chinese medicine that are still available today. In addition, scores of professional journals and research articles are produced on a regular basis. Why is this form of dietary therapy still around after thousands of years? Because it works! I will share some of the research with you and together we can discover the path to superior health and a slim body. The Chinese took weight control seriously. Yet remember that treatments weren't applied in ancient China unless dietary changes failed to create results. Therefore, the Chinese developed a comprehensive dietary strategy. I will provide you with this diet strategy, along with modern Western science and research to help you shed those excess pounds.

Many weight loss recipe books and websites promote low fat, low calorie foods or frozen and packaged "diet" foods as meals. If this tactic worked, then why is the obesity rate continuing to skyrocket? Just look at the World Health Organization obesity report and you will see the time to make a change is now. Any drastic diet that cuts out entire food groups is impossible to maintain in the long run.

This 150 page beautifully designed ebook digs deeper to reveal the holistic nature and function of food. Many foods that advertise their low calorie or fat content are overly processed and can put a damper on your weight loss efforts. On the flip side, there are foods that are higher in fat that support the body systems, which will allow you to drop extra pounds.

My healthy recipes for weight loss will leave you feeling energized and healthy. Put away those frozen "diet" dinners and stop paying for popular weight loss programs. Most importantly, toss the fad diets out of the window. Lose weight the healthy, natural way with whole, organic food and get the tools to maintain your weight loss for life. You will gain access to weight loss articles and nutritious recipes to help you shed those unwanted pounds. You'll never be at a loss for nutrient-rich, low calorie meals again!

So, does it work? Well, when I gave this outline to my wife to check for grammatical errors, she demanded I allow her to include her story, and how eating according to the guidelines of this ebook affected her body and life. I'll let her tell you...

I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl. When I met Elie I thought his interest in health food and balanced diet was "cute" but really, it didn't interest me at all. We ate moderately healthy at home, (or so I thought,) and though I put on a few pounds after our marriage, I assumed that was "normal."
